Nestled in the heart of Carlsbad, the Windmill offers a perfect mix of vintage architecture and a coastal vibe. The venue’s windmill adds a beautiful backdrop. This made an absolute dream for visual storytelling. The location gave us endless opportunities to get creative behind the lens.
Getting Ready Moments at A Carlsbad Windmill Wedding
We started the day with Angelina in her getting-ready suite. The natural light pouring into the bridal suite made for gorgeous, soft portraits as Angelina stepped into her gown. Meanwhile Juan and his crew shared a few laughs which we caught on film in a candid, documentary style.
The First Look & Portraits
One of our favorite moments to capture was the first look, held just outside the hotel under a gazebo. Angelina tapped Juan on the shoulder, and the raw emotion on his face as he turned around said it all. We love capturing these intimate, candid moments that reflect the couple’s true connection.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the charming indoor chapel space. It was filled with beautiful florals adorning and soft lighting. As photographers and videographers, we worked discreetly to capture the tears, smiles, and everything in between. The ceremony was so meaningful. From the heartfelt vows to the celebratory walk back up the aisle as newlyweds.
Golden Hour Magic & Reception Highlights
After the ceremony, we snuck the couple away for some golden hour portraits on the cliffs. The lighting was soft and beautiful. Cloudy days can sometimes make for the best lighting scenarios.
The reception was a celebration filled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and an epic dance floor. We captured every moment—from the emotional parent dances to the hilarious cake cutting.
